Carmen Miranda

Maria do Carmo Miranda da Cunha, better known as Carmen Miranda, was a singer and actress; Brazilian heart.

It was the second daughter of Joseph Barber Maria Cunha Pinto and Maria Emilia Miranda. Carmen got the nickname in Brazil, thanks to the love that his father had with opera.

The 20-year-old Carmen Miranda began his short and glorious career as a singer and actress. However, only recorded his first album at 30 years of age. At this time, the late 1930s, became a hit on radio stations in Brazil.

Not long after, Carmen Miranda went on the big screen in Hollywood. He acted in several films such as, for example, Tropical Serenade and One Night in Rio

He died of heart problems in 1955 and is buried in the city of Rio de Janeiro. He left as a legacy, his image is glad that, even today, rescued in the artistic and cultural Brazilian.
