Thanksgiving day

The Thanksgiving Day is celebrated annually on the fourth Thursday of November. It was officially declared a national holiday in the U.S. in 1941

Thanksgiving is a traditional American celebration. It is linked as well as Halloween, the time of the annual harvest.

The first Thanksgiving Day in New England were festivals of gratitude to God in thanks to good harvests per year. For this reason, the Day of Thanksgiving is celebrated in the autumn after the harvest has been gathered.

In Brazil, President Gaspar Dutra created the National Day of Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November in 1949 at the suggestion of Ambassador Nabuco. This date is celebrated by many families of American origin, churches, universities, religious Methodists and English courses.
